We established Poseidon in 2021, born out of the belief that water sports along Kenya’s coastal region had huge potential for growth.

With over 600KM’s of pristine white sand beaches and perfect water sports conditions, the Indian Ocean offers year-round opportunities for an array of activities.

Our first store, in the charming fishing village of Watamu, became Kenya’s first and only dedicated surf shop. Selling a diverse range of premium African and international brands of surf, beach, fishing wear and accessories, Poseidon became Kenya’s go to shop for high end equipment and attire.

In late 2024 we expanded into the rental business with a Water Sports Centre at Turtle Bay Resort in Watamu. In keeping with our brand philosophy, we offer the best gear at the best prices. Our services include SUP’s, kayaks, body boards, windsurfing, a 10-person giant SUP, creek tours and our recently acquired Sea-doo Speedboat for towables, wakeboarding, water skiing and wake surfing.

In 2025 we launched our second outlet in the luxurious and exclusive Billionaire Plaza at the Billionaire Resort in Malindi. We hope this is the second of many, with plans to grow our business throughout Kenya in the coming years.

Poseidon also aspires to be a eco-conscious brand. We believe in positively contributing to the surroundings we operate in. To this aim, our Malindi store was designed and built mainly from recycled and upcycled local materials – including a counter made from old wooden fishing boats, sisal ropes for lights and oil drums as table legs. Every little helps.
